Take a look at the highlights from
Vibe Coding Hackathon: Where Innovation Meets Industry

On March 4th we brought Vibe Coding Hackathon
The event brought together students, developers, and industry leaders at the Connected Systems Institute in Milwaukee for a one‑day challenge focused on real manufacturing problems. In six hours, mixed teams built AI‑powered predictive maintenance solutions to detect machine failures in advance and recommend smart actions.
Participants analyzed historical sensor data, identified anomaly patterns, and classified nine types of failures. Many teams built full end‑to‑end pipelines—from raw data ingestion to model training and dashboards showing failure risk and recommended maintenance. A key highlight was how teams used AI tools to accelerate development and design solutions that felt production‑ready.
The energy in the room was high, with mentors guiding teams to connect real manufacturing use cases with practical AI techniques. Collaboration, fast iteration, and diverse skills helped teams turn ideas into functional systems within a single day.
Ultimately, the Vibe Coding Hackathon achieved its goal: bridging academia and industry, showcasing the real value of AI in smart manufacturing, and creating a space for mentorship and innovation. For Customertimes and CSI, this is just the beginning of shaping the future of industrial AI in Wisconsin.
