Senior Data Scientist
We’re looking for a Data Scientist to support the Real-World Evidence (RWE) Analytics Enablement team. You’ll develop and maintain internal R tooling, translate methodological tutorials into reusable code, and support users of both the R tooling and the Posit Team platform.

Job (Project) Description
You will be responsible for supporting the RWE Analytics Enablement team. The team builds internal R packages and tooling for analytics teams conducting QA reporting and real-world evidence analysis. The focus of this role is upstream from direct analysis work: the Data Scientist will develop and maintain R packages, implement methodological functions, and provide user support for internal tools and the Posit Team platform.
Requirements:
- Strong R programming skills; 1-2 years of experience developing R packages;
- Experience following software engineering best practices: writing unit tests (testthat), version control (Git), documentation (roxygen2);
- Familiarity with Quarto and reproducible workflows in R (renv);
- Experience working with databases (e.g., Snowflake) and querying data (SQL and/or dbplyr);
- Ability to provide on-call support to internal programmers for coding time-sensitive customer deliveries; effectively identify and address barriers (e.g., follow-up questions, ad-hoc meetings);
- Strong communication skills, especially verbal communication with cross-functional stakeholders and written technical documentation;
- Ability to work independently while proactively consulting and asking questions;
- Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written).
Nice to have
- Experience with Posit Team or similar analytics platforms;
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or working with clinical trials;
- Familiarity with AI/LLM tools and frameworks;
- Proficiency in Python;
- CI/CD experience, especially with GitLab CI or similar;
- Previous experience deploying or supporting tools in an enterprise R environment.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain R packages and Quarto templates for customer-facing analytics deliverables;
- Build and maintain internal R packages used for internal QA and analytics workflows;
- Translate methodological tutorials into robust, reusable R functions;
- Cooperate with cross-functional teams to independently translate real-world methodological tutorials into well-tested and comprehensively documented R functions;
- Provide user support and troubleshoot issues related to R packages and the Posit Team platform (including permissions, manifest files, and lock files);
- Participate in an on-call rotation (2-week rotations across team members), acting as first-line support for internal users (non-infrastructure issues), and technical support for R tools and the Posit Team platform;
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and the knowledge management team;
- Participate in synchronous working sessions and provide responsive technical support during working hours.
What We Offer:
- USD monthly payment;
- 100% remote opportunity;
- 15 working days of paid vacation per year (available after 6 months);
- Up to 10 national holidays (either US or country of residence);
- 5 paid sick leave days;
- Reimbursement of health insurance expenses (up to 500 USD gross yearly);
- Covered travel expenses when applicable;
- Referral program;
- Personalized development plan (PDP);
- Access to the language learning platform.
